What's Next? v2018
Every December I start looking towards the new year. Part of it is business planning but it is also reflecting on the last 11 months to see what has worked, what hasn't and what can be improved upon. So far this year we are off to a slower start (hence my 2018 planning that started a month late) BUT I am not going to let that get me down!
First of all last year was a banner year for MTGA (torrential rain, fires and burst pipes be damned!). With the release of the first Pinot Noir, getting the Riesling back into the lineup, releasing the first ever MTGA Cabernet Sauvignon AND pulling the trigger on making some roséj... we definitely stayed busy.
On top of that we were able to hit the road quite a bit between Florida, Missouri, Southern California and more! With more on the docket this year we cannot wait to start making our way around the good ole U.S. of A. once again.
Looking back on 2017 it was a nutty year. Even thinking about it now it is hard to describe the ups and downs that last year brought our way. It feels like the impact of 2017 is going to take some more time to sink in but I could not be more thankful for its opportunities, challenges (which in reality are just more opportunities in disguise), and learning experiences. With all of the happenings in 2017 it truly felt like time sped up because here we are looking at February 1st of the new year already.
2018 is going to adjust its focus a bit from 2017. Of course we want to continue growing but we want to do it responsibly. With that in mind we are planning on staying right around 500 cases total production. We are also not planning on adding any new wines to the lineup this year outside of the rosé that will be release early this summer. We will be continuing with our usual spring and fall shipments as the next round of new vintages come about. We are also going to try to hit the road more to bring a bit of Napa and MTGA around the country so stay tuned for our upcoming travel plans!
This new year is sure to bring some more excitement as MTGA's roots get a little deeper here in Napa. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year brings and what will be on the horizon in the coming months. In the meantime, thank YOU for your continued support! With out it we would not be having this much fun doing what we love to do.
